Mobo makers shelve Rambus P4 plans
According to the Register, the Taiwanese DigiTimes is reporting that motherboard manufacturers on the island have stopped developing products for Pentium 4-based that use Rambus RDRAM. The reason, according to DigiTimes, is the disappointing sales of Socket 423 P4s. Manufacturers apparently believe the Socket 478 P4s, that will support DDR DRAM, will do better and are preparing products accordingly.
