Mobile AthlonXP rolls off the 0.13micron line

AMD is to add XP to the name of its mobile Athlon chips. The Mobile AMD Athlon XP is the first CPU to roll off the 0.13micron production line. That means less heat, more performance and cheaper to produce than AMD's chips built using the 0.18micron process. AMD has lined up Epson Direct, Packard Bell and Sharp as customers for the new chip. It says that production shipments for 1400+ and 1500+ flavours of the mobile Athlon XP began in Q1. Buy a thousand 1400+s and they'll cost you $190 a pop.
