Mixed Signals Technologies Integrates TiVo Ipreview
Hard drive video recording seems to be the next big thing and probably is one of the main reasons we're starting to see such gigantic hard drives . No matter what Bill Gates might say, TiVo is one of the pioneers of this type of recording. That's probably why they've been awarded patents relating to it. To push it all toward consumers, Mixed Signals Technologies and TiVo have announced an agreement to integrate TiVo's Ipreview technology into Mixed Signals' ITV Networking Solutions product line. TiVo's Ipreview lets viewers schedule recording directly from promos. See a commercial for a Sanford and Son episode you'd like to record? Click on the "thumbs-up" icon in the corner of your TV and the box will make sure it gets recorded. Of course, the various stations and networks will have to adopt the technology and you'll have to have a set-top box that supports it (from TiVo or MSI). Aside from those little details, it sounds like a good idea.
