Mitsubishi's Angleview FFD Technology
At the Society for Information Display Exhibition, Mitsubishi just introduced a new 15" TFT LCD module that uses its Feed Forward Driving (FFD) technology. Mitsubishi says the Angleview display, designed in conventional twisted nematic mode, offers faster display response time, high brightness, high color saturation and a wide viewing angle. FFD technology, incorporated in an application-specific integrated circuit, contains a frame memory and a lookup table. This combination accelerates the frame-to-frame process by calculating and then applying the necessary voltage overshoot. The AA150XB04 display will sample in the Q3 2001, with volume production scheduled for Q4. Pricing is $1,000 each in sample quantities.
