Microsoft ships third beta of WindowsMe
Microsoft has shipped the third beta version of its next consumer operating system, WindowsMe.
Code-named Millennium, WindowsMe is Microsoft's first operating system designed exclusively for the home user, and will focus on digital media, home networking and improved online experience.
The third beta is usually the last test version before the company prepares the final release, which some sources speculate could debut as early as next month.
