Microsoft releases NT upgrade
Microsoft will release this week a beta of its Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 6.
The service pack will apply to the Workstation, Server, and Enterprise Edition of NT, adding repairs for memory leakages which occur during remote access, DNS problems at startup, and a known blue-screen issue. The final version of SP6 for NT 4.0 should be available in general release in approximately 60 days.
SP6 will not contain any Year 2000 fixes. Windows NT 4.0's successor, Windows 2000, is scheduled for release before the end of this year.
