Microsoft to release eleven security updates next Tuesday

Microsoft’s upcoming "Patch Tuesday" promises to be a doozy as the company will roll out a flurry of security updates. The updates affect Microsoft’s operating, Office application and the .NET framework. Users are highly advised to install the updates because several of the vulnerabilities are rated critical or moderate by Microsoft.

There are eleven updates in total with six for Microsoft Windows, four for Office and the final one for the .NET Framework. Microsoft says the updates will require the user to restart their computers. Microsoft’s Baseline Security Analyzer and Enterprise Scan Tool will detect and help companies install the updates.

Microsoft also plans on releasing three other non-security updates on Tuesday October 10th, 2006.
