Microsoft introduces Windows Media 7
Microsoft today unveils its latest Windows Media technology at the National Association of Broadcasters convention in Las Vegas.
Slated for release in test form as Windows Media 7 next month, the technology includes an increased video rate of 60 frames per second over a 300-kbps connection and faster, making it a "broadband-ready media playform", company officials said.
Other features include beefed-up security protections for content providers against illegal copying.
