Microsoft hooks up with Symbian
Microsoft and Symbian are to partner in a deal that allows the smartphone maker to license several of the software giant’s mobile solutions.
Symbian, one of the top OS developers for cell phones, currently dominates the mobile phone market. It will develop software offering compatibility between Symbian phones and Microsoft’s Exchange Server ActiveSync.
The move, designed to assist corporate clients, will allow users to enter corporate email and scheduling programs which run on Microsoft’s Exchange Server 2003, through a mobile phone.
