Microsoft books ATI for Xbox 2 chipset gig
In a rather surprising turn of events, it seems as though Microsoft has dumped Nvidia as the provider of the graphics chipset for its Xbox console, and the upcoming Xbox 2 will instead feature ATI powered graphics. "ATI has a Pentium 4 bus licence from Intel; Nvidia does not. Microsoft would undoubtedly be looking at a more advanced CPU for Xbox 2 than the current console's Pentium III, and the P4 is a logical step up." . Although this is currently speculation, reports so far seem to be fairly reliable.
