Microsoft acquires mobile search technology
Microsoft today announced that it has acquired, MotionBridge, a Paris-based provider of a search technology aimed at mobile operators and the mobile Internet. According to the company, MotionBridge’s search engine is currently used by "major mobile communications companies in Europe and North America, including Sprint, Orange and O2."
Microsoft claims that the technology brings will offer "superior simplicity for users, delivering clustered results and deep links to downloadable content from multiple providers with device filtering." The firm plans to integrate the MotionBridge solution into its Windows Live services.
Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed.
