512 MB microSD cards to become mainstream in Q2, says SanDisk
With rising demand from multimedia-enabled handsets, 512MB microSD cards will become mainstream in the SD memory card market in the second quarter of this year, according to sources at SanDisk Taiwan. Insufficient memory capacity of 256MB microSD cards and a narrowing of the price gap between the 256MB and 512MB versions were the reason behind the increasing demand for 512MB microSD cards, the sources said.
