While I'd be willing to bet that most of you build your own PCs, you might be interested in knowing that those who purchase pre-assembled computers may get nForce-enabled boxes before you have the opportunity to buy an nForce mobo. At least, that's what you might think if you read MicronPC's latest announcement, but the company actually says that it's taking orders for the machines starting November 12th, not that it's shipping them. Your guess is as good as mine in figuring out when these boxes will actually hit the streets. Micron's nForce machine is called the Millennia XP+ and includes the aforementioned NVIDIA nForce Platform Processing Architecture, AMD Athlon XP processors, and DDR SDRAM. One version of the Millennia XP+ features an AMD Athlon XP 1900+, 256MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM, a 100GB ATA-100 hard drive, DVD-R/CDRW Combo Drive, Integrated GeForce2 MX graphics with TV-out, a 19" MicronPC 910EX Display (18" viewable), Dolby Digital 5.1 Integrated Sound, Altec Lansing AVS200 Speakers, 56K V.90 PCI Modem, Microsoft Works Suite Basic, Windows XP, and a one year warrantee. This particular config will be priced at $1,997.00. Now, quickly do the math and figure out how much it would cost you to build the exact same machine...
