Micron turns up the heat in the image sensor market
Long recognized as one of the world's leading manufacturers of memory, Micron Technology formed a new business group with its acquisition of Photobit in November last year. On May 6, the company announced sample availability for two new products, launched to complement the line of products carried over from Photobit's original product line. The MI-0133 is a stand-alone, low-power, CIF-resolution (352 x 288) CMOS sensor, while the MI-SOC-0133 is a true system-on-a-chip (SoC) with the sensor accompanied by a processor handling a complete range of image processing functions.
