Memorex starts selling double-sided mini DVD-R discs
Memorex has started selling double-sided miniature recordable DVD-R discs. The discs can store 1.4 GB per side for a total of 2.4 GB per disc. Each disc is coated with Memorex’s "DuraLayer" film that protects the data against dust and scratches.
The 8 cm discs will work in most DVD burners, but are really meant for the dozens of Mini DVD-R camcorders made by Canon, Panasonic and other manufacturers. Previous generations of mini DVD-Rs were just one sided and could only store 1.4 GB total.
Memorex is currently selling the double-sided mini DVD-Rs in packages of five for $20.
