Media Player 7 takes aim at RealNetworks
In its latest effort to unseat RealNetworks as the leading provider of online multimedia technology, Microsoft released a preview version of its newest Windows Media Player.
Like RealNetworks' Jukebox, the new Windows Media Player 7 provides storage, recording and management capabilities for digital media content, including the ability to copy and organize CD content on the PC.
While RealNetworks has said it will support Microsoft's format on its Jukebox, Microsoft's new player will not recognize RealNetworks' formats.
