by - source: Tom's Hardware

When you purchase a storage server, it's always best to pick one that can grow along with your organization. Maxtor's MaxAttach NAS 6000 storage server scales to 5.7 teraBytes from its purchased size and gives you hot-swappable drives, dual power supplies, and redundant cooling fans. Data availability is provided via RAID 5 data protection and Maxtor's Persistent Storage Manager (PSM) snapshot feature that helps you retrieve deleted or corrupted files. The MaxAttach NAS 6000 Starts at $29,999 for the 1.9 TB base capacity server. All of the MaxAttach storage servers give you network status reporting, automatic e-mail alerts and RAID 0, 1 and 5 data redundancy. Features include automatic restoring of the operating system if it gets hosed and automatic rebooting of the MaxAttach if the operating system locks up. Multiple Ethernet ports, Gigabit Ethernet, a journaling file system, and integrated UPS support are all on board, along with a SCSI port and preinstalled backup software if you rely on the added insurance of backing up to tape.
