Maxtor equips OneTouch drive with FireWire 800 interface
Maxtor announced a new version of its OneTouch II external backup harddrive : The new drive received a FireWire 800 interface that allows data to travel at a speed of up to delivers up to 800 Mbit per second.
The drive is currently shipping in the US and Canada with capacities of up to 300 GByte and a 500 GByte version to follow later this year. Pricing begins at $260 for the 200 GByte model. The 300 GByte version lists for $330. According to Maxtor, the drives are working with PCs as well as Apple computers. (THG)
