Maxtor & LightSaver Digital Team Up

By - Source: Tom's Hardware | B 0 comment

Maxtor and LightSaver Digital have teamed up to bring the professional studio environments a solution to simplify the workflow involved with HD video editing. LightSaver Digital selected Maxtor Atlas 10K hard drives for use in its new LightSaver HD uncompressed high-definition digital disk recorders.

Built on a Linux platform, the HD recorder provides the efficiencies of disk-based recording, including flexible shot management, capture and transfer capabilities, and fast access to footage. It also records video by storing each frame as an individual, raw RGB or DPX file directly to an array of 10 Maxtor Atlas 10K drives. The storage array can be mounted as a NFS directory tree, simplifying the workflow for special effects departments and video graphics artists because they can work directly on a frame over the network without extracting it from a sequence.
