Matrox picks C-Cube silicon for digital video line
Matrox Electronic Systems Ltd. has selected C-Cube Microsystems' digital video encoding and decoding silicon to power their new digital video products for the consumer PC, video production/video server, and broadcast markets.
As part of the relationship, the companies will collaborate on the development of combined technologies for video compression, realtime editing, and graphics that will enable feature-rich systems with superior image quality to be delivered at price points that make them accessible to a broader market.
Matrox's first introduction of C-Cube-based products will be at this year's National Association of Broadcaster's show, April 19-22.
