Marvell announces single-chip accelerated IPsec router
Broadband chipmaker Marvell just announced its Link Street 88E6318 IPSec VPN Gateway Router chip . It's the first and only single-chip router with built-in IPSec hardware acceleration .
Among the 88E6318's other features are a 64-bit MIPS-5Kf RISC CPU clocked at 233 MHz, five integrated FE PHY ports and MII port, 2 UART ports, parallel printer port, and high-speed switch with QoS and 802.1Q VLAN support. The device runs on a variety of embedded operating systems including the Windows CE .NET platform.
The device with evaluation boards will begin sampling this quarter . No product pricing was available, nor were any design-ins announced.
