Mac PlayStation clone wins in court
In a case of David versus Goliath, game console giant Sony suffered a setback as court officials ruled in favor of a copycat program that allows Macs to run games designed for the PlayStation.
Overturning a prior court order that restricted Connectix from shipping a PlayStation emulator called Connectix Virtual Game Station, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has ruled that Connectix can resume sales of the Macintosh version of the software.
A Windows version of the $30 program will ship shortly, the company says.
