Logica and CMG Talk Merger
Great Britain's Logica and the Netherlands' CMG, both technology services provider giants in Europe, announced this week that they are in discussions to merge their operations. Both companies install and manage large corporate IT systems and software, and issued a statement that the way for both of them to survive is to merge; thus saving on overhead costs, with both companies benefiting from their common product roots and larger combined size. In 2001, Logica employed approximately 11,900 and had sales of 1.13 billion pounds ($1.76 billion), while during the same period, CMG employed 13,480 and had sales of 920 million pounds ($1.44 billion).
