There is a lot more happening in Grapevine, Texas, as the weekend approaches and then comes to a close. There are many additional debuts on the docket, and strange and outrageous events planned. One of these is a speaker session with the Creature Effects Supervisor from Stan Winston Studios, Co-Executive Producer Jeremy Steckler, and id Software CEO Todd Hollenshead. They will be talking about the upcoming Universal Pictures movie DOOM starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Karl Urban. There is even the promise of some sneak peeks at footage from the film.

The rules of QuakeCon. Violation of these rules will, as advertised, result in the devouring of the violator by a horde of tiny Doom imps.

Another favorite is from Kyle Bennett of HardOCP. He will be hosting his speaker session later in the event, where representatives of various QuakeCon sponsor companies and others will share with hardware enthusiasts. If it is anything like last year, gamers are in for a treat. Intermingled between speaker sets and Q&A, lots of freebies and hardware are sure to be distributed to the crowd.

The lights in the room went down, but the monitors and case mods bathed the room in their warm glow.
