The MP3+ is based on a Creative CA0185 circuit and an Analog Devices AD1885 codec to AC97 2.1 standard with two AD channels and two 16 bit DA delta/sigma channels for analog/digital conversion. All input mixing is therefore analog. The maximum sampling rate is 48kHz. There is a separate earphone output with its own volume control. The MP3+ uses all these features. We should mention that plugging in an earphone cuts off the line-out, which you could find a good or a bad thing depending on what you use it for.
