Outside the doors of the Javits Center in New York where the LinuxWorld Expo began on Wednesday, it is anything but hot. Large chunks of ice float down the salt water of the Hudson River just behind the convention center. The highest temperature since the show began Wednesday has been 25 degrees Farenheit, after the thermometer saw single-digit lows all week. But inside the Javits Center, the atmosphere is different. After the shock of being in a warm place wears off, it is more apparent than ever that the Linux community, and especially its corporate players, has changed dramatically as compared to years past.

A redhat Inc. representative preaches the Linux gospel to a skeptical attendee who many people claim no longer exists.
