We recently became part of the TiVo generation with the purchase of a $100 Hughes SD-DVR40 DirecTV DVR. Like countless TiVoids before us, my wife and I (her especially!) have quickly come to love our new-found TV-watching freedom.
As expected, the SD-DVR40 filled to its 35-hour (give or take) capacity pretty quickly and might have lead to buyer's remorse for not having sprung for a higher-capacity box. But a little Googling soon led me to Weaknees and its pre-packaged TiVo hard drive upgrades.
