Life after Micron
Micron and Hynix appears to be a done deal - but Korean unions could still scupper the marriage. Post takeover, Micron will have 40 per cent or so of the world's DRAM market - don't forget it scooped up another three per cent or so this week with the completion of the purchase of Toshiba's US DRAM factory. So what implication does this have for the DRAM market. Will prices go up, or will Micron/Hynix use its economies of scales to squeeze the pips out of smaller rivals?
