LG ships 200 million TVs
Korean newspaper Chosun Ilbo is reporting that LG Electronics has shipped its 200 millionth television set. LG has 15 television factories around the world.
The company has begun building television sets in 1966. Since then, the company’s production has grown tremendously from the 9050 sets made in the first year. The company sells dozens of different models of LCD and Plasma television sets, some exceeding 60 inches in diagonal length.
A recent iSuppli market research report saw LG Electronics as the leading television supplier in 2005.
