Legend, China's biggest PC maker, is fortifying its defences against mighty Dell, by adopting the US behemoth's build to order techniques.
China is expected to overtake Japan as the world's second biggest PC market in 2003, and Dell is getting very interested in the country. In just 12 months it has gone from nowhere to take 4.6 per cent of the market, according to IDC. Sometimes, it is even cheaper than legendarily cheap Legend, has just over 30 per cent of the Chinese market.
