Leaked Intel EPIC roadmap unites IA-32 and PA-RISC
A document downloaded from Intel's web site reveals details about the chip maker's plans for its EPIC 64-bit architecture.
The Register reports that the document, written by Intel fellow John Crawford and HP lead architect Jerry Huck, indicates that both IA-32 and PA-RISC designs will use EPIC technology. The engineers also address many of the upcoming features of the architecture, and the techniques it uses to perform more functions in fewer CPU cycles.
According to The Register , the document is available on Intel's ftp download site at ftp://download.intel.com/design/processor/next.pdf
