The Toshiba 27WL56P did fairly well in the calibration test. As always, the darkest shades were difficult or impossible to render satisfactorily. But while few colors were perfect, 95% were within the standard.

This is an excellent black level! Of course, the brightness is a little less strong than with the other sets, but contrast still attained 779:1 in our measurements. That's well above the 32" Toshiba 32WL48P. The blacks were very deep, with a very good brightness level for a TV set. I'm very pleased with the results.

Spatial Uniformity


Here again, Toshiba turned in a faultless performance. The uniformity of lighting over the panel was by far the best we've seen on a TV set thus far. The values were all grouped within 15% of the total range of recorded values. Kudos is in order.
