More than 10% of LCD TVs to use 40- and 42" panels in 2006

Worldwide makers are expected to ship 48 million LCD panels for use in TVs this year, with 40- and 42" panels in over 10% of the shipments, according to DisplaySearch Taiwan president David Hsieh. S-LCD will ship 3.1 million 40" panels and LG.Philips LCD will ship 1.8 million 42" panels this year, Hsieh said, indicating that the two major makers for the segments will alone account for more than 10% of this year’s worldwide LCD TV panel shipments.
