First-tier TFT LCD makers to capture 95% of global LCD TV panel market

With first-tier TFT LCD panel makers finding it easier to raise funds for capacity expansion, second-tier panel makers are finding themselves increasingly shut out of the LCD TV panel market. First-tier panel makers are likely to account for 95% of the LCD TV panel market in the near future, up from around 90% now, according to Taiwan's Photonics Industry Technology & Development Association (PIDA) and Taiwan-based panel makers.
