LCD TV demand weak in Q1, but should pick up in Q2

Although LCD TV demand has been weak this quarter, especially in the Europe market, most investment firms and panel makers expect demand to rise significantly next quarter due to aggressive price reductions from panel makers. Current LCD TV sales are not strong in Europe and makers were overly optimistic about Christmas season demand last quarter, so panel inventory levels have picked up, according to Wan-Li, Wang (transliterated from Chinese), an analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston.
