Lawmakers want MP3.com legalized
US legislators from both parties are sponsoring legislation that would give companies the right to copy, store and stream music to those who have previously purchased the music. The "Music Owners' Listening Rights Act of 2000" would give MP3.com the right to do what it has been sued for doing by the RIAA and the "Big Five" record labels. MP3.com has been lobbying for such a change in law.
