Larry Ellison to Invest in Storage Network Company
Larry Ellison, Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Oracle Corporation, has reportedly pledged to make an investment from his personal investment funds of $100 million into Pillar Data Systems, a storage network company. Pillar's spokesperson reported that the investment would be used to fund further development and completion of Pillar's networking storage platform, which Ellison hopes to bring onto the market by 2004. Pillar Data Systems, based in Milpitas, California, has approximately 175 employees and is a privately held company. Larry Ellison is Pillar Data Systems' Co-Chairman.
