LANMash 2: The LAN Party That Came to Happen in the North American Blackout of 2003 : LAnmash 2: The LAN Party That DID

LANMash 2: the largest LAN party ever to be held in Toronto, Canada, which was powered by Gamers!
How do you host a LAN party for 400+ people during the largest power failure in the history of North America? At one point, I was wondered if there would even be a LAN party. After making a call to the LANMash staff, I learned that three hundred other people shared the same concern.
For those of you that were stranded on a deserted island for the past few weeks, approximately 50 million people in the US and Canada were without electricity due the biggest blackout ever in the history of North America.
However, the LAN party staff assured me that they had things under control, and that the LAN was going to happen with or without electricity. So with those two questions answered positively, I finished packing up the car and headed up to Mississauga Canada, a suburb of Toronto, for LANMash 2.
I was driving up there with a friend of mine, and things went much smoother than we expected. We were amazed that there weren't any hassles at the border, since the whole car was packed with computer equipment.
After we said that we had nothing to declare, the customs agent asked: "What are the computers I see on your back seats for?"
"Oh we are going to a LAN Party in Mississauga," he said.
To our amazement, one of the border officers knew what a LAN party was. He even asked us what games we were going to play. So, with the blessing of customs to enter the country, we continued on our way around the western shore of Lake Ontario to LANMash 2.

A cozy place to host a LAN party for hundreds of gamers.
