KPN rolls out Ethernet VPN service
Dutch telecom provider Koninklijke KPN has rolled out a new Ethernet VPN (virtual private network) service for businesses, allowing them to integrate LANs using high-speed Internet connections. "The service, announced Monday, offers more bandwidth than traditional asynchronous transfer mode, frame relay or leased line services, KPN said, offering companies the ability to simplify their networks, consolidate storage and application servers, and reduce the number of required application licenses."
