Kingston's 5GB PC Card Drive

Kingston Technology is now producing a new five Gigabyte (5GB) PC Card Type II compliant hard disk storage upgrade, called the DataPak 5GB. Here, we must give Kingston a few kudos in the "honesty in advertising" department because they really mean 5GB uncompressed storage. Don't you get tired of seeing a big capacity claim followed by (at 2:1 compression)? The DataPak PC Card portable hard disk drive is a credit-card-sized 1.8 inch disk drive that fits into any Type II compatible PC Card slot like those found in digital cameras, PDAs, and notebook/desktop systems. DataPak 5GB consumes 15 milli-amps of power in both sleep and standby mode, and 350 milli-amps in access mode. It has an MSRP of $499.
