Kingston Announces HyperX DDR Line
Kingston Technology has announced the launch of its new HyperX line of high-performance DDR memory modules today for PC3000 and PC3500. The first two products to be released are the HyperX DDR with 256MB and with 512MB modules, which reportedly support data rates of up to 370MHz (PC3000) and 434 MHz (PC3500). Kingston has reported that it will launch additional high-speed modules as the technology becomes available to support it. Kingston is initially releasing the 256MB and 512MB DDR modules into U.S. retail and computer system builder markets, as well as through its Web store. HyperX products will be available in regional markets within Europe, Asia and Latin America in early 2003.
Kingston's HyperX DDR 370 MHz (PC3000) module has two suggested manufacturer retail price points: Model KHX-PC3000/256 lists at $109 US, and Model KHX-PC3000/512 lists at $213 US. The HyperX DDR 434 Mhz (PC3500) module's SMRP price points are $129 US for the Model KHX-PC3500/256 and $254 US for the Model KHX-PC3500/512. The HyperX modules also feature an aluminum heat sink to diffuse the heat generated by these lightning quick modules. All Kingston memory modules feature a lifetime warranty.
