Buena Vista sells 1.3 million copies of Kingdom Hearts II
Buena Vista Games and Square Enix today announced that Kingdom Hearts II has sold 1.3 million times since its release on 28 March. The Japanese version of the game was released on 22 December and has sold 1.2 million copies since then.
A sequel to Kingdom Hearts, which has been listed among the top ten best-selling PlayStation 2 titles of all time in North America, the new game connects seamlessly to the events in the original version and follows Sora, Donald, and Goofy on their continuing quest : Players are traveling through the worlds of "Beauty and the Beast," "The Lion King," "Mulan," "Pirates of the Caribbean," "Steamboat Willie" and "Tron" as well as revisit worlds from the original, including "Aladdin," "Disney Castle," "Hercules," "The Little Mermaid," "Winnie the Pooh" and Tim Burton’s "The Nightmare Before Christmas."
Both Kingdom Hearts titles have sold a combined 5.1 million copies.
