JVC Everio camera with 30 GByte harddrive
JVC launched a range of cameras called Everio that use harddrives to store video. The first models had a 4 GByte MicroDrive, and now we get models with a 1.8inch harddrive with capacities between 20 and 30 GByte for Mpeg2 videos with a maximum of 9 Mbps video bit rate. This translates into a storage capacity of a littlke more than seven hours at the highest quality level (720x480) on a 30 GByte drive. We have not received pricing information yet.
