JEITA: Japan mobile phone shipments down 36.2% in April
The Japan Electronics and Information Technology Industries Association (JEITA) announced on June 11 that cellular and PHS phone shipments in Japan plunged 36.2% year-on-year in April to 3.113 million units. Cell phone shipments fell 35.5% to 2.985 million units, and PHS handset shipments plummeted 48.8% to 128,000 units.
