ITC rejects Rambus case
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has formally ended its investigation into alleged patent violations by Hyundai Electronics Industries Co. The investigation began at the request of Rambus Inc., claiming that Hyundai was importing chips to the US that violated Rambus patents. Rambus previously withdrew the case because, according to a rebuke by the ITC, it had drawn a judge experienced in patent cases that the company did not want to face. Attempts by Rambus to reinitiate a patent investigation at the ITC would, therefore, be looked at with particular skepticism.
