Itanium prices, specs revealed
The Register has revealed OEM prices and specifications for Intel's upcoming 64-bit Itanium processor.
The 800/266 and 733/266, both with 4MB of cache, will reportedly cost $4227 at launch. The 800/266 Itanium with 2MB of cache will be priced at $1980, while the 733/266 Itanium with 2MB of cache will cost $1177. All prices are in quantities of 1000.
In addition, Intel reportedly plans to cut prices on its high-end Xeon workstation chips in mid-July.
