ISP to UK: Return to sender
A U.S. Internet service provider blocked all email from the entire United Kingdom after reportedly receiving "massive spamming" of "pornographic material," according to The Register.
New Jersey-based ISP IDT reportedly barred all email bearing a .co.uk address after receiving the spam which it traced to Leeds University.
A spokeswoman for Leeds denied the allegation, claiming that someone outside the university had breached mail server security before sending the offending spam about a get-rich-quick scheme.
"We have no record of receiving any complaints from IDT," she said. "It would have been nice if IDT had had the courtesy to contact us first."
No one from IDT was available for comment.
