IPv6 gains wireless support
IPv6, the proposed upgrade to the Internet protocol, has not been universally embraced. Though the current IPv4 is running out of addresses, ISPs and corporations have avoided the cost of upgrading through the use of alternatives that rely on systems of private Internet addresses. Now, however, European and Japanese wireless suppliers may be dragging the Net into IPv6, because they need the unlimited public supply of addresses it provides.
