All Apple Products Forbidden in Bill Gates' Family
All Apples are bad Apples, according to the Gates family.
Even though Bill Gates is no longer the CEO of Microsoft, he and his family are still attached to the legacy of products that he helped bring to the market are the company that he founded.
One of Bill's new focuses is with his wife in work on the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The New York Times had a chance to briefly talk with Melinda Gates, and one of the topics she was asked about was whether or not Apple products exist inside the Gates' household. In a word, the answer is a stern "No." Here's the entire exchange:
Do you own an iPod, which is made by Apple?
No, I have a Zune.
What if one of your children says, “Mom, I have to have an iPod?”
I have gotten that argument — “You may have a Zune.”
Do you have an iPad?
Of course not.
Is it true that Bill works on an Apple laptop?
False. Nothing crosses the threshold of our doorstep.
Isn’t there room in this world for both Apple and Microsoft?
Microsoft certainly makes products for the Macintosh. Go talk to Bill.
We don't expect there to be any Windows PC products inside Steve Jobs' home, so this isn't all that surprising.

Who cares? If I owned Microsoft i'd have the same story...
I don't see what the big deal is
Very true Silver565 . Bet if you asked Steve Jobs if he had a Microsoft product he would say 'No!' . Hardly suprising is it.
Steve Jobs only uses Windows products when he needs to get some work done, otherwise it's purely 100% apple products
Didn't we have this as a story about 8 months ago?
Why does it always have to be one or the other, Microsoft OR Apple? You should choose the product that does the best job for you, regardless of who makes it.
I use an iPod Touch and a Windows PC and netbook. I also have a PowerMac G4, an Apple TV is on order and I'm probably going to get a MacBook Air.
aedwards, that is the case for most people, but if you owned a company that could make any gadget you want, why would you settle for someone elses stuff? ...it's all pretty "newsless" and obvious eh
plus i wouldnt buy an apple product if you pay me ...they are not that usefull

I know plenty of people who work in music, design, and graphics who would disagree.
This was said months ago, and who cares it is expected, if I owned Microsoft, Apple would be a swear word in my family and not even the fruit would be allowed in my house. If I owned Apple, Microsoft would be banned in my house, it's the way of competitive markets.
In other News, the forum spam is getting so bad and the adverts larger that they now take up more space than the whole of wikipedia printed onto A4 paper.
That was one hell of a spam.

Personally i use my guitar for fun, and photoshop cs5 on windows for my arty stuff (odd website, gaming related art + wallpapers/themes etc), coding stuff i do in dreamweaver also. (albeit basic stuff i'm no pro hehe).
But each to their own m8 ... that was kindof my point anyway, he can do it on that so why use something else? likewise vice versa, as long as we all got what we want who really cares that much eh? xD
True. I personally wouldn't use a Mac either, but can see why some people would. My girlfriend excluded. She bought one because "it's pretty"
*facepalm*
I have to admit the only thing that got me close to a "tempted" position is styling, i like good materials and tactile surfaces,
Ever since i dumped by beige case for a lian li pc1099b back in the early 2k's i have never accepted dodgy looking goods ...allthough i have survived without going to the "dark side" hehe.

Oh right, so if you can get by in your bedroom with PS on windows doing gaming art there's no need for Apple?
Macs are widespread industry standard for many media professionals. The stability and robustness of them can't be matched by PCs. And I'm no fanboy; I only own windows computers (+ an iphone) but I can appreciate that apple make very good products.
It wouldn't be bad if they try it from time to time...mainly we as customers would be benefiting from it
