Network-based surveillance cameras to overtake CCTV
According to the iSuppli market research firm, networked video cameras running on IP protocol will overtake CCTV cameras in a few years. Currently CCTV cameras account for seven times the revenue of IP cameras, but that will change in 2011.
In that year, iSuppli predicts that the IP camera market will grow to $5.6 billion dollars, about $2.3 billion more than CCTV cameras.
